ALFRUS BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT: FROM ALMOND SUPPLIERS TO LEADING PROCESSING COMPANY

Our business story began in Apulia, where the members of the Sisto family grew and founded Alfrus. Here, during the 1980s, three young brothers Leonardo, Domenico, and Michele Sisto grew up following their father, Ambrogio, and learned how to run their family business relating to almonds. At the age of twenty, the three brothers became chiefs of the company and began to head towards international markets, striving for partnerships with almond suppliers coming from different agri-food companies in northern Italy.

These partnerships increased the family business in terms of professionality, accountability, and reference. Today our commitment to almond processing and almond suppliers has merged with our life-long passion, as we have settled down cutting-edge plants and technologies to build a brand new business.

THE COMPANY STRUCTURE: INTERNATIONAL SUPPLIERS WITH TWO HIGH-TECH PLANTS IN ITALY

Our products come from California almond suppliers and producers. But we also process almonds from Italy, Spain, and many other countries, including Australia.

We want to take the world markets with our authentic flavors, and we have implemented a huge company asset, with two plants in Italy:

  • In Udine 36 thousand square meter-factory, with 13500 covered by processing plants
  • In Bari, our historical headquarter

We process almonds with our state-of-the-art technologies, which control and transform them into the best ingredients for food and confectionery companies. Our customers’ portfolio is becoming bigger and we are becoming world markets protagonists: our data export recorded in 2020 took advantage on the import ones.
